Another viaduct section goes in.

Very quick lunchtime visit today.  The section of viaduct seen waiting on the ground on Sunday had just been lifted into place.  A number of engineers were working on both ends.  The gap has shrunk to one pier which I am sure will soon be bridged.
Here the latest section can be seen still attached to the large crane with a smaller telescopic crane also attached.
A group of engineers working to fix the section to the pier.
And also at the other end.  Not quite fully down yet from the difference in height of the two sections.
Here the ever shrinking gap can be seen from the River Hiz bridge.  Just pier number two waiting for the remaining sections. Lets hope the measurements are correct!  However from the progress made already, I am sure they will be.

  1. Just seeing all that commotion makes for nerve jangling viewing - job well done though guys! Steady hands and iron focus seems the order of the day on this type of site. From Maths Tutor Hitchin
